Photos keep coming….

We have been inundated with more photographs (to be posted shortly).

It would be wonderful if you can put a caption including a date when the photo was taken and identify a few faces. As you can see on our website some of photos are without caption at the moment and it would be useful if you can help. Obviously it is impossible to identify everyone in big groups but please make your best effort and perhaps name those in the front at least.

All the photos are also found here on our blog (see bottom left) and it is best (and so simple and easy to do) to send your comments on this site.

Website Additions

Check the website ( http://www.mapuamgm888.org ) – there are new photos (‘Some Blasts from the Past….’), and pictures of ‘Past Profs’ as well as more about the entertainment.

Photos are also on Flickr – see if you can guess who the ‘Bathing Beauties’ are….

Class Lists – Important

From your comments, it has become apparent that the class lists are not complete.  If your name is missing I suggest that you also contact the MIT main website www.mapua.edu.ph and ask them to update their database and include your name (please note that the lists on our blog are lifted from the main MIT listing).

888 egroup links to 888 website

Hi everyone,

It’s now official – our 888 webiste is www.mapuamgm888.org and our weblog is www.mapuamgm888.wordpress.com.

In the weblog, we (mao, zen and I) are the ‘authors’. It is here where you will be updated with stories, news, announcements, reminders, trivias, etc.

If you have to reply or comment to any of these, just click the red colored “comment” and type your thought.

The idea of coming out with this weblog is to minimize the volume of in-coming messages from our egroup. Thus, we encourage you to visit these sites as often as you can for replies/comments. But of course, the 888egroup is still open for email exchanges. When you are in the egroup, just click the LINK button on your left screen and you will be led to our website. So, practically, anywhere you go, you will end up with our website. Everyone will be updated, everyone is within the loop.

Window dressing the website is in progress so you will see more changes as the event draws near!

Hi again

I hope that the Mapua MGM Alumni community will find us here and be able to communicate with us with comments, suggestions, information that will be useful for the success of MGM888.

A website now live will have information/details about our big day. Phil and myself have been working hard on putting together a site that we feel will be useful. Thanks to Angie and Mao for providing the support and information.

888 Reunion Information

The idea of gathering alumni, former classmates and friends of the school of Mining, Geology and Metallurgical Engineering (MGM) of the Mapúa Institute of Technology here and abroad is a brainchild of Class’76.

On August 8, 2008 (888), Friday, there will be a convergence and collision of laughter, fun and drinks that will definitely fill the air with nostalgia and indescribable excitement.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime gathering of friends at our very own, the Mapúa Gymnasium. The affair will commence with a NOSTALGIC WALK around the campus, 3-4pm; HOLY MASS, 4-5pm; COCKTAILS and the MAIN EVENT, 6pm-onwards.

This is a NON-FORMAL occasion. We DO NOT require any pre-registration. All we need are your warm bodies and full support.

For local attendees, a minimum of PhP 1,000 will be charged. Payments, either in cash or check may be given to Angie SAJONA and Edwin MOJARES (MGB and MGB RO4), Alice REYES (DOE), Connie SANCHEZ (TransCo) and Ocer MONTEMAYOR. Checks must be payable to ODOACER MONTEMAYOR/GASPAR IMPERIAL. May we set MAY 30, 2008 as the deadliest deadline?
